Brazilian Government invests $ 37 million in Pantanal airports

Aiming to boost tourism, the state government of Mato Grosso, through the Secretariat of State for Tourism Development (SEDTUR-MT) will invest more than $ 37 million to improve the infrastructure of its airports and aerodromes.

The resources to be used are part of the amount made ​​possible by the State Government with the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES).

The work planned for the 11 airports (Juína, Rondonópolis, Pontes de Lacerda, Nova Mutum, Juara, São Feliz do Araguaia, Tangara da Serra, Cáceres, Diamantino, Barra dos Garças and Alta Floresta) are signaling devices, expanding the runway landing, passenger station, paving and resurfacing of the runway for aircraft patio, access to the airport, among others.

According to the Secretary of Tourism, Teté Bezerra, the works of airports in Rondonopolis, Tangara da Serra, Barra dos Garças and Juara are ready to be bid. As for the others, the projects are in its final stages.
