Domestic and international arrivals increases in March

Figures released last Tuesday (04/17) by the Ministry of Tourism show that landings of domestic flights increased by 5.37% last month compared to the same period in 2011. It was the best March on record, which measures the movement of passengers at Brazilian airports since 2000.

Domestic arrivals were 6.77 million against 6.43 million recorded last year.

The international arrivals, which record the arrival of foreigners and Brazilians coming from abroad, were also increased compared to March last year. There was an increase of 5% in relation of the 767,000 arrivals recorded last month and the 731,000 in March 2011.

The numbers of landings are for regular flights and non regular operating in the airports managed by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero).
