Catedral Municipal de BrasíliaThe Metropolitan Cathedral, Nossa Senhora Aparecida is the main church of Brasilia, designed by the great architect Oscar Niemeyer, famous for its modern lines.

Officially inaugurated on May 31, 1970, the beautiful building of glass and circular format is supported by sixteen impressive concrete columns.Its ceiling is decorated by a beautiful stained glass and three sculptures of angels suspended, creating an imposing and impressive atmosphere.Four bronze statues of three meters high, symbolizing the evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, from the sculptor Dante Croce, guarding the entrance.

Because it is situated on the esplanade of the ministries, the cathedral does not have a community setting and most of the faithful who attend is composed of tourists and faithful who work on the terrace.

The cathedral is open daily for tours, except for the times when Mass is celebrated.

Schedule of Masses: from 3rd to 6th at 12h15 and 18h15, 17h00 Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30, 10:30 and 18:00.
