Officially inaugurated on May 31, 1970, the beautiful building of glass and circular format is supported by sixteen impressive concrete columns. Its ceiling is decorated by a beautiful stained glass and three sculptures of angels suspended, creating an imposing and impressive atmosphere.Four bronze statues of three meters high, symbolizing the evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, from the sculptor Dante Croce, guarding the entrance.

Because it is situated on the esplanade of the ministries, the cathedral does not have a community setting and most of the faithful who attend is composed of tourists and faithful who work on the terrace.
