Mané Garrincha Stadium

Mané Garrincha - uma das sedes da Copa de 2014Its first inauguration was in 1974, but the brand new one is scheduled for December 2012, when it will be called the National Stadium in Brasilia Mane Garrincha, and remodeled according to FIFA rules, may host some World Cup Finals matches in 2014.

According to the Federal District Government, the reform project of the Mane Garrincha Stadium provides coverage on a metal structure, reform of the bleachers, elimination from the track, lowering the pitch of four meters and underground parking. With that work, it is expected that the capacity of the arena is expanded from 45 thousand to 71 thousand spectators.

But while the World Cup does not come and the reforms are under way, the parking lot of the stadium is being used as a venue for festivals and music shows, and has even received international attractions such as the Californian Jack Johnson.

The Mane Garrincha Stadium, located in downtown Brasilia, is 15.7 kilometers from the President Kubitschek International Airport (BSB).
