According to an inspection report updated of the Court of Audit (TCU), missing 21 months for the biggest football event in the world, only 8.3% of the amount estimated at $ 7 billion in loans to the transport sector was released.

Between 44 works planned urban transport, only six had release funds until last month. Five of them have not even signed contract between Caixa, organ donor, and public agencies responsible for implementation and at least two books have been removed from the schedule because they would not be ready until the event.

According to the minister Valmir Campelo, works of mobility are the most concern for the Cup, and some of them won’t be ready until 2014.

In the airline industry, the situation is also critical. According to the minister, Infraero is struggling in bidding works under his responsibility and even in airports granted to the private sector through public bids (Brasilia, Natal, Campinas and Guarulhos) are also in worrying situations. According to the minister, the works of Guarulhos and Campinas are expected to be completed very close to the start of the event.
