Two men arrested with R$ 475,000 in underwear in Brasilia Airport

On Thursday (16), two people were arrested at the airport Juscelino Kubitschek in Brasilia, by the Federal Police. The duo carried more than R$ 475,000 into the underwear.

The federal police questioned the two suspects, who were later released. The two were indicted for alleged tax evasion.

According to information released by the Federal Police, the duo had the Guarulhos International Airport, in São Paulo, as a destination, and police are still investigating whether they wished to travel abroad.

It is not illegal to carry large amounts of cash within the national territory, as informed the corporation. In the case of travel abroad, the limit of cash, travelers checks and prepaid cards is $ 10,000 or the equivalent in foreign currency. If the value exceeds the limit, a statement must be made with the IRS.
